This department works with your primary veterinarian to accept referrals by appointment of cases requiring specialty-level evaluation,
Our Small Animal Internal Medicine service has two board-certified veterinary internists on staff, registered veterinary technicians, and veterinary assistants. We work closely with the other specialists and emergency doctors at VSS to ensure comprehensive care for your pet.

Dr. Kate Sycamore is originally from Auckland, New Zealand. She obtained her veterinary degree at Massey University in Palmerston North, New Zealand. She practiced for two years as a primary small animal veterinarian in Cambridge, New Zealand, before pursuing specialty training. Dr. Sycamore completed a rotating internship at Queensland Veterinary Specialists in Brisbane, Australia. She then completed a three-year residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Georgia.
