Care Credit / Insurance
Many pet parents choose to purchase insurance plans for their pets’ medical care. While there are a number of companies that offer pet insurance, not all plans are appropriate for all pets. Some conditions or breed-specific issues may not be covered so, before purchasing an insurance plan, each pet parent should research as much as possible.
Unlike human medical insurance, pet insurance plans require the client to make full payment at the time veterinary medical services are rendered. A claim can then be made on the insurance plan and, according to the terms of that plan, reimbursement is made to the client.
If you have pet insurance, one of our Client Service staff members will be glad to assist you when filing a claim. We can provide copies of invoices, medical records, help fill out claim forms and send the information to your insurance company.
Among the other forms of payment we accept (cash, check, Visa, Mastercard and Discover) is Care Credit, a healthcare credit card. Emergent veterinary care can be expensive and this is a solution for immediate financial support.
You can apply for Care Credit by phone (800-365-8295), online (www.carecredit.com) or in our office. If choosing to apply in our office, the person applying must be present and have two forms of identification (driver’s license/state ID and a debit/credit card with the applicant’s name on the card). For existing Care Credit account holders, the same forms of ID must be verified by one of our Client Service staff members before we can accept Care Credit as payment.
Through Care Credit, we are able to offer two extended financing options: 6 months at 0% interest or 3 years at 14.9% interest.
6 months at 0% interest: For any charge over $200. Monthly payments are required and, if the full balance is not paid off by the end of the 6-month promotional period, 26.9% interest will be applied to the full amount charged from the purchase date. See www.carecredit.com for further details.
3 years at 14.9% interest: For any charge over $1000. There is no penalty for paying off the balance early.
